The current season of "Raising Hope" will be its last one, FOX announced. The network says the comedy will bow out with a one-hour series finale on April 4.
That's fairly short notice, but executive producer Mike Mariano says he and the cast and crew planned the season finale as a possible series ender.
"On behalf of myself, [creator] Greg Garcia and 'Raising Hope's' amazing cast and crew, I would like to thank our audience for tuning in and supporting us over the last four seasons," Mariano says in a statement. "We planned our Season 4 finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we've chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again."
While "Hope's" cancellation is a bummer for fans, it's not exactly a surprise. The show's ratings have tumbled this season with a move to Friday nights -- it's averaging just 2.8 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 for the season.
